| **Emergency** | Urgent care visit | Accident, sudden illness |

## What You Can Do Now

You can do the following today:

- Start encounters
- Record vitals
- Write clinical notes
- Create service requests and tasks
- Hand diagnostic work over into the Diagnostics fulfillment workflow
- View patient history and timelines
- **Register new patients** from Clinical Workspace when search finds no match (same page, no redirect)
- **Edit patient details** from the Patient Details tab while working in Clinical Workspace

### Clinical Workspace: Register → Encounter → Vitals

When a patient is not found in search:

1. Click **Register New Patient** (or **New Patient** beside the search box).
2. Complete the inline registration form and submit — you stay on Clinical Workspace.
3. You are guided to the **Encounter** tab to create an OPD visit and set **Cash** or **NHIS** coverage.
4. After creating the encounter, the **Vitals** tab opens automatically.
5. Record vitals, then continue with consultation, orders, and other tabs.

To update demographics or contact information for the selected patient, open the **Patient Details** tab or click **Edit** on the patient banner.

For laboratory, radiology, pathology, walk-in testing, and result-file workflows, see [Diagnostics Workflows](diagnostics.md).
